Why More Organizations Are Prioritizing People-Centric Data Security

As more companies in the industry realize how crucial it is to protect their data, they make online security a more serious business priority.
Annually, the identity management company Okta, which permits users to log in to multiple websites using a single ID and password, publishes the Businesses @ Work report, revealing the most popular and fastest-growing tools at work. The report is formulated with data from thousands of companies and over 100 million registered Okta users.

As flexible and remote operation continues to grow, and as hacking and violations remain a threat, organizations’ leaders realize they need to do more to protect data, their employees, and business.
Data Protection And Security As A Priority In Business
For cybersecurity experts, the trend towards user authentication and data protection is not so surprising.
The Okta report said that as work becomes more flexible, the line between staff and work blends in, and the conventional “perimeter” of web security in an office disappears. Many companies migrate from network-centric authentication requirements, typically requiring connecting to a system through a VPN, to a people-centered model that provides system permissions based on login accreditation.
Another reason why applications like Snowflake have grown in popularity is that the massive growth of company data has made administration more difficult. Snowflake does not only store company data but encrypts, compresses, and distributes it. It processes data queries and provides cloud services such as authentication, adding extra security layers. The snowflake recently obtained $479 million in new funding, totaling a value of $ 12.4 billion.
Continuous Data Protection
Snowflake safeguards customer data by assuming responsibilities that traditionally fall on IT experts. Through their continuous Data Protection (CDP) feature, they give priority to the security of their data environment, which means that their customers’ data is also protected. The feature protects data by encrypting, authenticating – can also restrict or permit access to users via an IP address – and by sustaining historical data. It protects against hardware and software failures, harmful activities, and human errors, making them recoverable in accidental or intentional damages.
Snowflake does not offer threat detection as a separate product. But they have received so many access requests to their internal threat detection service, called Snow Alert, so they agreed to open-source a part of the framework.
Snowflake recently entered a partnership with Salesforce that will allow users to access data between the two platforms. The aim is to give the users easier access to data from both services.

Consumers want to make decisions based on their own data and based on data from other products. The partnership refers to the transformation of Salesforce data as simple and perfect as possible into Snowflake.
