The Amazon Echo which is now used in millions of homes across the U.S can do lots of smart stuff you don't know, but with its built-in features, it won't be able to do those since its features are not extensive enough. However, with third-party “Skills”, you can extend the functionalities of the Amazon and also add new features to it. For example, you can use it to add events to your Google Calendar and even order pizza.

It’s essential for you to know how to add Skills to your Amazon Echo in the first place because you’ll be adding skills to Amazon Echo every time you want to extends it functionalities like using it to control your Harmony Hub or looking for your Phone.
So here’s how to add skills to your Amazon Echo.

To add a Skill, tap on the sidebar menu button at the top-left corner of the screen in the Alexa app on your phone.

Then select “Skills”.

Tap on the search box located at the top where it says “Search Skills”.

Then type in the name of the Skill you want to install and then tap on the Search button at the right side to search for the Skill.

So when the Skill you want appears, just tap on it to open it and see more information about it.

Then tap on “Enable Skill” to add the Skill to your Amazon Echo.
You may receive a pop-up prompt asking you to allow the Skill to use your location.

You might also be redirected to a new screen where you’ll need to sign into your account that’s associated with the Skill you installed.
