As long as you've aleady set it up on your Phone.

In case you haven’t set up your WeMo Switch, you can visit this link to check out our guide on how to do so. Then you can come back here to set up the automatic on/off features.

After you must have set up your WeMo Switch then you can follow the below steps

Open the WeMo app on your phone, then tap on the “Rules” tab at the bottom side.

Then tap on “By time, sunrise/sunset”.

Now select the WeMo Switch you want to set up for auto on/off under “Turn On/Off”.

So we're going to set up when the switch turns on first becaue if we select one of the two, more options will appear below it. So tap on "on"

Now tap “On” under “When”.

Then tap on “Time” and set it to when you want the WeMo Switch to turn on. Then tap on “Done” after setting the time.

Now under the “Days”, you can deselect the days you don’t want the switch to be activated. And in case you want it to work every day, then you don’t have to do anything there. So tap on “Done” at the top-right corner when you’re done.

So below the “Rule Name”, enter a custom name for automatically turning on the switch. Something like “Living Room Light On”. When you’re done, tap om “Save” at the top-right corner of the screen.
Then rule will appear in the list.

Now to set up when the WeMo Switch turns off, tap on the “+” icon at the top-right corner of the screen.

Then follow the same steps you for setting when the WeMo Switch on, but instead of selecting “on”, tap on “off” .

Then you can give the rule a name like "Living Room Light Off". Then tap on “Save” at the top-right corner when you’re done.

Then you’ll two rules will be available on your rule list.

Selecting either of them will allow you to disable the rule or delete it totally. Disabling it will only deactivate, but won’t delete it. You can easily re-enable it whenever you wish.

In case you’re looking for a solution to automate your lights, then Belkin WeMo Switch is a cheaper alternative if you don’t have a lot of lamps that need automating. You can also use some Smart lights to automate your lights.

  1. You have no idea how many times I'd love to be able to adjust my lights from the couch without getting up or how often I need to check if I left my lights on at home.
