Do you know that you can create a shortcut of another drive or folder shared on your network just by mapping that network drive location? If you map a network drive, the drive or folder will appear as a new drive under “This PC” file i.e. it shows up where connected drives are listed.

With this, you can quickly access the shared files you need, it just the same thing as accessing your local hard drive but this is a network drive. We've already explain how you can map OneDrive as a network on Windows 10.

So here’s how to map a network drive in Windows 10

Launch the File Explorer and click on This PC.

Click on “Computer” tab at the top, and then click on “Map network drive” button below the computer tab.

Choose the drive letter you would like to use for the network folder, then click on Browse.

Head to the folder you would like to map and then click on “OK”.

You can also decide to the check the checkbox if you would like to reconnect to the folder whenever you sign in. Then click on “Finish”.

You should now be able to see the new drive letter under “This PC” and of course will be able to see its contents. If you want to disconnect the network drive, right-click on it and select "Disconnect."
