Marketing can be defined as the process of identifying, anticipating and displaying of goods and services as required, specified or demanded by the customer. Marketing is not complete if needs are not identified and satisfied, so that there must be an exchange process that guarantees sales and profit. In other words, It is anticipation, management and satisfaction of demand through the exchange process.


Marketing has been identified as exciting and dynamic also a challenging field of study. It is to a great extent an all embracing and evolving process of every organizational set up. It is a coordinating instrument of an organization and every business world.

Marketing is not applicable to business alone, it is found in other areas of our daily life. It is done in the church, the mosque, the school, when we were born, growing up days, retirement, politics, and so on.

Marketing is a human activity directed at satisfying needs and wants rooted in human behavior, so much that there is nothing one does that does imply an art of marketing involving display of products and services to the public in order to earn a revenue or profit.
