Previous reports claim that Apple will be announcing a 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro in March. The company was thought to be preparing to unveil the iPad Air 3, but rumors say Apple is instead going to announce a smaller version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro that was launched last fall.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is expected to only be different in size compared to the bigger version, with the tablet said to be powered by the same A9X processor with 4 GB of RAM.

Apple is said to be all set to unveil the tablet, along with the 4-inch iPhone SE, on March 21, and with new bands for the Apple Watch. As the date draws nearer, more information is coming from the rumor mills regarding the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

A new report by Apple news website 9to5Mac disputes the claim that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will simply be a smaller version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, with the report stating there will be more differences between the two tablets aside from their size.

The differences are not necessarily downgrades though, as the site reported that internal prototypes of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro feature a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro, in comparison, only had an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The upcoming tablet is also said to be capable of recording 4K videos, a feature that can be seen in the Apple's latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 6s. It will also be including an updated display that features improvements in terms of brightness and preventing glare compared to the iPad Air 2.
