What is Thermoset?

The material which can be deformed permanently by heat and pressure is called a Thermoset. In other words Thermoset are synthetic materials that strengthen during being heated, but cannot be successfully remolded or reheated after their initial heat-forming. Thermoset materials are usually liquid or malleable which is designed to be molded into their final form, or used as adhesives. Thermoset materials are generally stronger than thermoplastic materials due to this three-dimensional network of bonds (cross-linking), and are also better suited to high-temperature applications up to the decomposition temperature.
