What is a Ball Pen?


A ball pen, also known as a “biro”, is a pen that releases ink over a metal ball at its point which means over a ball point. The metals that are commonly used are steel, tungsten carbide or brass. Ball pen works on the principles of Capillarity and Surface tension.

Principle of Capillarity states that a liquid tends to rise and fall in a thin tube. 
Surface tension can be define as an elastic thin layer acting along the surface of a liquid.
