Oyetoke Tobi - Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Do you know that you can create a custom template in Google Docs to save your time of arranging your Google Docs documents?

In case you usually create the same kind of Google Doc template whenever you want to prepare a document, you can save a lot of time by creating a custom template you can use yourself continuously. Custom templates can contain your details like your address and logo or specific fonts and colors.

Ensure you are comfortable with the template design and it is presentable to the public when creating a Google Doc template.

Here’s how to create a custom template in Google Docs.

Open your web browser, and then head over to docs.google.com.

Then create a new document in Google Docs that you'd like to use as the template, or edit of your old documents.

Then open Google Docs Templates and click on Submit a template.

Then select "Choose from your Google Docs.”

Then select the template you've made and click on Select. Now enter a description of the template. So ensure is not too short because Google Docs won’t accept short description.

Then choose a category from this list.

Now select the language the template was written in. The defaults language is English (United States), but of course you can change it.

Then click on Submit template.

Then open the My Templates page, and select “Use this template” to create a copy of the template you just made. However, it may take some time for a newly created template to be available, so wait for some time.

So from there you can use the template anytime you want.

If you want to make your template private, since the ones you created will be made public.

So after you must have created your template document, head to Google Drive. Then right-click the template document in Google Drive and click on “Make a Copy.” That’s all.
