4 Reasons to Use Windows Defender in Windows 10

Oyetoke Tobi - Sunday, October 02, 2016

If you are a Windows user, you sure understand the importance of using anti-malware software. The trouble we have most times, is selecting the best software to use.

Windows Defender is quickly becoming the most preferred security system thanks to several updates Microsoft has done to it over the years. This is reason that Windows 10 is more secured than other versions of Windows.

With Microsoft offering more improvements through Anniversary Update, it is about time you started using Windows Defender. If you aren’t convinced yet, here are some facts to consider

1. You don’t have to pay for it and comes with no Nag Screen

Of course the fact that something is free isn’t a guarantee that it will be useful. If you must use free software, then it has to be functional as well. Windows Defender is uniquely different other forms of free security software.

First is that unlike most other free security software that has some form of limitation, Windows defender does not. You will never to pay for subscription at some point.

Secondly, Windows Defender does not have those annoying “nag screen” most paid security have. Nag screen are reminders to upgrade your security software, and those updates are never free. You will never experience this with Windows Defender.

2. Integrated with Windows

Though this might not sound like much of a good reason, but there are lots of benefits integrating Windows defender with the OS has to offer.

First is that you don’t have to perform separate updates. Once you update your Windows, the Windows Defender that comes with your system is also updated if a new update is available.

Secondly, you don’t have to install it because it is already installed. All you have to do is to turn it on.

Windows Defender is much powerful than most people think, so you don’t have to underestimate its capability.

3. It works well

There are a few select people Windows Defender isn’t meant for. First are those that work with sensitive data. Second are those that aren’t comfortable with Microsoft privacy issues and then finally those that work in a business environment. But if you don’t fall into any of these categories, then you are good to go with Windows Defender.

One good thing about Windows Defender is that it can detect as much as 99.8% of all malware present in a system. If you are like most users, this is enough.

4. It has quite a number of advanced features

Most people still have a stunted view of Windows Defender. But the truth is that Windows 10 has gone through several improvements since it was first introduced in Windows XP. Here are some advanced features that come with Windows Defender:

Cloud Based Updates

As Malwares keep advancing, Windows Defender has also followed suit.

Real-Time Protection from viruses

Windows Defender works without you even noticing it. It is always on the lookout for malware which may be present in your computer.
