How to Change the Microsoft Edge Default Search Engine

Oyetoke Tobi - Friday, September 30, 2016

Do you use Microsoft Edge browser to surf the web often? To be frank and truthful, it’s much more better than the former Internet Explorer browser people even ditched for UC Browser.

But, now that you are using Edge, one thing you might not want is that it makes uses of Bing as the default search engine. Though like Google or other search engines, Bing really does offer some good services.

But maybe Bing is still lacking from the things you wants to use it for or maybe you don’t like Bing at all. Then how do you change the default search engine on Edge browsers?

So here’s what you need to know:

Navigate to the search engine you want to make the default and just search for anything and in case you’ve used it before on the edge browser, you can skip this step.

Then click on the three-dot menu button at the top-right corner.

Then click on Settings at the bottom side of the menu that shows.

Then click on View Advanced Settings.

Then scroll down, then you’ll notice button labeled “Change search engine”. Just click on that.

Then it will bring out the list of available search you have on your browser including the one you’ve used. So just click on the site you want to use as the default search engine and then click on set as default.

That’s all! You can now use any Search engine you want in your Edge browser.
