Oyetoke Tobi - Saturday, July 16, 2016

Do you have Car that is compatible with CarPlay? Since you have a CarPlay compatible vehicle, why not try it out to see what you can do with it. Fortunately, setting this up is quite a quick and easy process that won’t take your time. All you'll only need to do is to set up your phone once, and you can also set up multiple phones in order to work with it flawlessly.

So here’s how to do just that

Note: Make sure your iPhone is running on at least iOS 7.1 or higher. Also make sure you car is compatible with CarPlay.

Connect your iPhone to the Car socket with a Car Lightning cable

Then you’ll see a dialog messaging asking for CarPlay to access while it is locked. So just tap Allow button.

If the CarPlay Home screen doesn’t appear, select the CarPlay logo on your car’s display.

Then choose CarPlay selection on your vehicle's infotainment system

That’s all. So if you want to confirm whether CarPlay is already set up on your phone, then you’ll have to use these two different ways:

1. You'll observe that the CarPlay icon will appear on your vehicle's console.

2. If you navigate to Settings on your iPhone, you should be able to see your car listed in the CarPlay menu. You can go to Settings » General » CarPlay to check it out.

So whenever you connect your phone to your car it will recognize it and allow you to use CarPlay.
