Note: Make sure your iPad or iPhone is running on iOS 7 or higher.

So here's how to do just that

The first thing to do is to turn on AirDrop on your Mac by navigating to Finder, and then click on “AirDrop” at the Favorites menu.

A drop down menu will appear, then select “Everyone” to change the availability to public at the drop down menu located at the bottom side of the window.

So on your iPhone or iPad, head to the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the device and also change the AirDrop menu to “Everyone.”

Then wait for a few seconds and make sure your device appears in your Mac AirDrop window.

So drag the photo or document you want transfer from your Mac to the AirDrop icon.

Then accept the document on your iOS device.

That's all, so your photos or documents will be transferred to your iPhone. So make sure you turn off the AirDrop on your Mac and iOS device when not using it.
