What is Test Case?

Test cases entail a set of steps, conditions, and inputs that can be used while conducting testing tasks. The major aim of this activity is to make sure whether a software passes or fails in terms of its functionality and other views.

Types of test cases

1. Functional test cases
2. Negative test cases,
3. Error test cases
4. Logical test cases
5. Physical test cases
6. UI test casse

Components are always available or accessible and incorporated in every test case:

1. Test case ID

2. Product module.

3. Product version

4. Revision history

5. Purpose

6. Assumptions

7. Pre-conditions

8. Steps

9. Expected outcome.

10. Actual outcome

11. Post-conditions

Multiple test cases are written for a single software which are jointly called Test Suites.
