What is SIP - If – Match Header Field?

The SIP-If-Match header field is a branch of the SIP publication mechanism. It is integrated in a PUBLISH request meant to refresh, amend, or eliminate previously published state.

1. The header field carries the entity tag of the state information that was returned in a SIP-ETag header field in a 2xx response to an earlier PUBLISH.

2. If the entity-tag is no longer applicable, the server will return a 412 Conditional Request Failed response.
