What ACK Request Core Method?

ACK is used to acknowledge the final replies to an INVITE method. An ACK always goes in the route of INVITE. ACK may hold SDP body (media characteristics), if it is not existing in INVITE.

1. ACK may not be used to amend the media description that has already been sent in the first INVITE.

2. A stateful proxy receiving an ACK must decide whether or not the ACK should be sent downstream to another proxy or client.

3. For 2xx responses, ACK is end to end, but for all other final replies, it works on hop by hop basis when stateful proxies are concerned.
