What is Logical Data Independence?

Logical data is the data about database, i.e. it collects and saves or stores information about how data is managed or controlled inside. For instance, a table (relation) stored in the database and all its constraints employed on that relation.

Logical data independence is a type of mechanism, which free up itself from actual data stored on the disk. If we modify some changes on table format, it should not change or alter the data residing or dwelling on the disk.
